Responsibility of the Parent/Carer

  • Inform school of my child’s absence by telephoning the school in the morning and supporting school policy regarding sickness.
  • Work in partnership with the school informing staff of any concerns or problems that might affect my child’s ability of behaviour.
  • Get to know about my child’s life in school and support school events including parents’ evenings and discussions about my child’s progress.
  • Encourage my child and family to feel proud to be part of the school.
  • Care for my child’s safety and happiness.
 

Responsibility of Ickburgh School

  • To provide a secure, happy and stimulating learning environment.
  • Keep you informed about general school matters and about your child’s progress in particular by providing regular opportunities to discuss your child’s needs and the way they are being met.
  • Ensure the curriculum is broad and balanced and that individual teaching and learning targets are appropriate.
  • Contact you on the first day of your child’s absence to find out about your child’s health and wellbeing.
  • Care for your child’s safety and happiness.
  • Consider every individual's needs and provide the support they require to fulfil their potential.
